TVBTN: Franklin & Bash Renewed by TNT for a Third Season NHL labor talks resume this weekend, and all 106 preseason games have been canceled. But NBC Sports Network will have college hockey games on Fridays, as usual, starting October 12, one day after the NHL season was supposed to begin. FOX News Channel broadcasted a suicide today, that of a driver who stopped his car after being chased by police. Shepard Smith said, "We took every precaution we knew how to take to keep that from being on TV." Except not putting car chases on television.

TBS and FOX have extended their MLB deals through 2021. USA Today: "But where TBS previously aired all first-round MLB playoff series, Fox will carry some first-round games on its Speed channel, SportsBusiness Daily reports. Speed, which now focuses on motor sports, might be rebranded as more of a general sports channel." Hunted premieres on October 19 at 10pm on Cinemax. Comedy Central renewed Tosh.0 NY Times: "Netflix said on Wednesday that it had acquired the rights to show Derek, a new comedy program written, directed by and starring Mr. Gervais, following its run on Channel 4 in Britain." CBS renewed Big Brother for a 15th cycle. FX is rerunning 3 episodes of American Horror Story Thursday morning at 2am-5am, both this week and next week. Three more are scheduled at the same time on October 4. Presumably the last two episodes of season one will air on October 11.

The Mob Doctor flopped in its premiere.

The Voice rose half a point from its season premiere last week. The premiere of Revolution rated half a point higher than The Event from two seasons ago.
