Lucy's success spurred an increase of filmed programs. ABC mostly dropped out of Tuesday for this season only. A program about the presidential election, Pick the Winner, aired from August 14 through October, Thursdays at 9pm on both CBS and DuMont (it would air once more, in 1956 on CBS.)

ABC: Wrestling from the Marigold in Chicago aired on both DuMont and ABC. Inspector Mark Saber--Homicide Detective was formerly named Mystery.


CBS: The Jack Benny Program ran every fourth Sunday at 7:30. Private Security replaced This Is Show Business, in February.


NBC: The Life of Riley replaced Gulf Playhouse in January. The Buick Circus Hour ran monthly, Tuesdays at 8pm. Mister Peepers replaced Doc Corkle, which was canceled after only three weeks.


DuMont: Jackie Gleason left Cavalcade of Stars for The Jackie Gleason Show on CBS. New York Times Youth Forum ran at 5-6pm on Sundays. Youth on the March, The Arthur Murray Party, and Life Begins at Eighty moved from ABC.


Art Linkletter's House Party debuts September 1, and would run until September 25, 1970. The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet debuts on October 10, 1952 and would run until September 3, 1966, making it the longest-running live-action sitcom. Hallmark Hall of Fame specials debut December 24 and would run on NBC through 1978. Syndicated children's program Romper Room debuts in February 1953, and would run until September 1994.
