Last full season for DuMont. Hollywood studios enter the world of television, as ABC helps build Disneyland. Religious series start falling out of network primetime. The schedules are becoming more stable, as networks learn to build nights. NBC revamps its Saturday schedule, after Your Show of Show ends.

ABC: The Voice of Firestone and Kukla, Fran and Ollie moved from NBC. The Stork Club moved from CBS. Twenty Questions, Dollar a Second, and Boxing from Eastern Parkway moved from DuMont. Ozark Jubilee debuted in January, ran Saturdays 9-10pm. The Ray Bolger Show was formerly named Where's Raymond. The Vise was formerly named Inspector Mark Saber--Homicide Detective and before that, Mystery. ABC's version of Kraft Television Theatre ended in January 1955.


CBS: The Millionaire debuted in January, airing Wednesdays at 9-9:30. Jack Benny alternated each week with Private Secretary. The Best of Broadway ran monthly on Wednesdays, 10-11pm. Shower of Stars ran monthly on Thursdays, 8:30-9:30. The Ray Milland Show was formerly named Meet Mr. McNutley.


NBC: The Roy Rogers Show aired 6:30-7pm Sundays. Producer's Showcase ran monthly on Mondays at 8-9:30. The Jack Carson Show ran monthly on Fridays at 8pm. The Bob Hope Show and The Martha Raye Show each ran monthly at 8pm on Tuesdays.


Lassie debuts on September 12, and would run until 1974. The Tonight Show debuts on September 24. Face the Nation debuts on November 7. The Lawrence Welk Show debuts on July 2, 1955.
