FOX launched on October 9, 1986, with a weeknight talk show, The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers, which ran until October 28, 1988, though Rivers exited in early 1987. As the other networks were wrapping up the season, FOX entered primetime and ran new episodes all summer on weekends.

Sitcoms Roxie and Take Five ran a 8-9pm on Wednesday, April 1 and 8. Nothing Is Easy and The Popcorn Kid ran on Friday at 8-9pm, March 27-April 24.

NBC: The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd debuted on May 21, 1987 and had the post-Cheers (rerun) slot during the summer. Roomies and Amazing Stories ran briefly on Fridays at 8-9pm, starting March 20.
